ABOUT iPAN ACADEMY

Physical theatre exercise - auditions for The Soldier's Tale

iPAN academy is a unique, intensive practical performing arts programme launching in Blackburn in the autumn of 2025.

iPAN academy provides an exciting and challenging programme, encompassing a wide and varied range of skills across the performing arts.

By joining the iPAN academy, you will become a member of a training company. As a valued member of an ensemble, you will work with others to explore, experiment, and collaborate in the act of creating work for the theatre.

Rehearsal for My Story Our Story 2024 Nostalgia

You will develop performance skills across three streams in the academy year. In the first term you will concentrate on fundamental skills with our core team. The skills covered include: acting, text study, voice, movement, singing and dance. During these sessions, the company will be divided into smaller groups, to target your specific skill level.

In the second term, industry guests will work with the company on a specific aspect of theatre or performance technique. There will be one specific focus each year, providing a good grounding in specialisms such as physical theatre, puppetry, circus, or experimental aspects of music and dance.

In the final term, the focus is on creating a production that draws on the strengths of the company, culminating in public performances.
